王晓东

1991年在美国得克萨斯州西南医学中心获生物化学博士学位。2003年任北京生命科学研究所所长。主要从事细胞凋亡研究，在《自然》、《科学》杂志上发表论文近30篇，成为中国大陆留美人员中当选美国国家科学院院士的第一人和最年轻的美国国家科学院院士。研究所吸引25位海外高级科学家全职回国工作，在生命科学研究上步入国内外同领域前列。

Wang Xiaodong received a doctor degree in Biochemistry from University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, the US, in1991. In 2003, he was appointed director of National Institute of Biological Science, Beijing (NIBS). He engages in researches on cell apoptosis. With about 30 academic essays published in some renowned journals like Science and Nature , he is the first Chinese academician of National Academy of Sciences, USA and also the youngest one. Under his leadership, NIBS has 25 top overseas Chinese scientists in full-time work, standing at the frontier of global biological research.
